I recently installed Win 7 RC on one of my computers and everything was running fine and still is really, but on start up I get the message "C:\users\login name\Appdata\local\temp\225704Log.in iiss Lost". I did some searching and didn't find much except that this could be a security issue. Is this so? If so what can be done about it. If it isn't a security issue, what is it?Thanks

Hi,While msconfig can tell you some on things loaded on startup, I'd suggest you try Autoruns from www.sysinternals.com It is free, easy to use, and will tell you what program is started up, and what it is using.As such, your displayed message annoys me.RegardsRem

I paged through all the information and didn't see what I would consider suspicious. Then again, I don't know if I would recognize anything at my level of expertise. If something is rotton somewhere, how do I find out what it is? I had Norton 2009 on this machine and for kicks I removed it and downloaded ESET 4.0 Security suite with NOD32 antivirus and niether progam found anything wrong.

I think it didn't find anything wrong because the problem is no loger there; The only remaining problem is the reference to a likely problem.

Hello, We can also try the following steps to get rid of the message. 1. Perform a Clean Boot to check the result. 2. Clear the redundant files in temporary folder. a. Restart the computer to Safe Mode. b. Click Start and click Control Panel. c. Click Classic View and choose Folder Options. d. Click View tab, choose Show hidden files and folders box, click Apply and click OK. e. Click Start -> Computer. f. Go to C:\Users\your user name\AppData\Local\Temp folder. g. Select all files in the Temp folder and delete them. Click Yes when prompted. h. Restart the computer to Normal Mode for a test. Does the message pop up now? Thanks, Novak

Please excuse me if this post is in the wrong place. I googled the path and it took me here.I am running Windows 7. I have 28,538 Temp files in the folder c:\users\your user name\AppData\Local\TempMy problem is when I delete them, they start regenerating themselves almost immediately and are soon up tothis amount. This happens even whenthe computer is idle. Thanks for the response Zeus,I'm running Microsofts Security Essentials.. and Malwarebytes .I'm wondering if MSE is searching my other hard dives .. silently ??? I only want it to scan my C: Drive and as far as I know that is ALL it should be scanning.
